Canceled a credit card lately?

Canceled a credit card lately?

If you have canceled a credit card lately then you need to get your hands on your credit report as soon as possible. Canceling a credit card can change the whole look of your credit report, in fact it can make your credit rating a lot less appealing to lenders. Oftentimes when a credit card gets canceled instead of the credit report saying it was the customer that canceled the card, the credit report will state that it was actually the company that did it. This look terrible because credit card companies only do this when a borrower does not pay their bills like they are supposed to.

When you get your credit report look for anything like this on it. If you see it then you need to contact your credit company right away and let them know what the problem is so that they can fix it s soon as possible. Keep in mind that the credit company is not going to find this mistake on their own, they do not go over reports to see that everything is in order, that is your job, s you need to make sure that you do it. The credit bureau will not be able to help you so don't contact them , it is your creditors, those who issued you the credit card that you need to talk to.

Just a with all other important communications with the credit card companies you need to follow up your phone call with a letter. Enclose a copy of the report showing where the mistake is on it. This way there can be no misunderstandings about what the problem is concerning your credit card. These misunderstandings can keep things from getting taken care of in a timely manner. You should also include a copy of the letter that you sent when you first asked for your account to be closed. And make sure that your letter is certified so that you will know they have received it.

Then keep checking your credit report to see if and when the mistake is fixed.
